Step back in time and experience the colour, music and nostalgia of the Cooly Rocks On Festival on this fun filled six day Gold Coast and Tweed Coast escape. Celebrating the music, cars, fashion and culture of the 1950s and 60s, Coolangatta comes alive with classic vehicles, rock and roll, vintage displays, markets and live entertainment. With plenty of time at the festival plus beautiful coastal and hinterland experiences, this tour offers much more than just the main event.

Our holiday begins with a flight from Sydney to the Gold Coast, followed by lunch and a relaxing Tweed River eco cruise. We then discover the beautiful coastline around Coolangatta, Rainbow Bay, Kirra and Kingscliff before settling into our beachfront accommodation at Mantra on Salt Beach.

Venture into the lush Gold Coast hinterland for a day at Tamborine Mountain, browsing Gallery Walk before exploring the rainforest from above on the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk and visiting the fascinating Glow Worm Caves. Another delicious experience awaits at Tropical Fruit World, where we discover exotic fruits and learn about this unique working plantation.

The highlight is plenty of time to immerse yourself in Cooly Rocks On, with scheduled coach transfers allowing you to enjoy the festival at your own pace. Our final day includes the much loved Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary before flying home with wonderful memories of a lively coastal getaway.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to the Gold Coast & Tweed Coast

We depart Sydney on our flight to the Gold Coast, where our holiday begins with lunch before enjoying a relaxing eco-cruise along the beautiful Tweed River. As we glide through this picturesque waterway, we keep an eye out for local birdlife while learning about the region’s unique environment. Later this afternoon, we take a scenic coach tour of the beautiful coastline, exploring the beaches and seaside villages of Coolangatta, Rainbow Bay, Kirra and Kingscliff before arriving at our beachfront accommodation for dinner.

Day 2 – Tamborine Mountain Discoveries

After breakfast, we head into the lush hinterland to picturesque Tamborine Mountain. We have time to browse the charming Gallery Walk, filled with boutique shops, galleries and tempting local treats. We then enjoy a peaceful stroll through the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, taking in the beauty of the ancient forest from elevated walkways. After lunch, we visit the fascinating Glow Worm Caves before returning to the coast via a scenic drive through Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast’s famous beaches. Day 3 – Tropical Fruit World & Cooly Rocks On

After breakfast, we visit Tropical Fruit World for a fascinating guided experience showcasing one of Australia’s most unique working plantations. We discover an incredible variety of tropical and exotic fruits, enjoy tastings and learn about the region’s rich agricultural heritage before sharing lunch together.

This afternoon, the excitement builds as we arrive at the iconic Cooly Rocks On Festival. One of Australia’s largest nostalgia festivals, Cooly Rocks On celebrates the music, cars, fashion and lifestyle of the 1950s and ’60s. Stroll amongst beautifully restored classic vehicles, enjoy live rock’n’roll performances, browse the market stalls or simply soak up the vibrant atmosphere before returning to our hotel later in the day.

Day 4 – Immerse Yourself in Cooly Rocks On
