Originally constructed between 1866 and 1869 and designed by renowned railway engineer John Whitton, the Zig Zag Railway is a remarkable feat of engineering, built to overcome the challenging mountain terrain. Settle into First Class for a memorable 90-minute return journey along Top Road to Top Points, travelling through beautiful bushland and taking in magnificent mountain views. Experience the fascinating Zig Zag railway system, with its famous reversing manoeuvres, while enjoying the sights, sounds and charm of a traditional steam train.
