Tour description

Experience the colour, charm and wonder of one of regional NSW’s most uplifting events on this four-day escape to the Canowindra Balloon Festival. With Orange as our base, we begin our journey through the Blue Mountains and the historic village of Millthorpe before discovering the stories, flavours and landscapes that make this region so special. A visit to the Age of Fishes Museum provides a fascinating glimpse into ancient history, while the festival itself delivers pure magic — from vibrant balloons drifting across the sky to the unforgettable Balloon Glow, where they light up the evening in a spectacular display of colour and sound.

Beyond the festival, the tour unfolds at a relaxed pace with visits to Cowra’s serene Japanese Gardens, boutique cool-climate wineries, and the grandeur of Abercrombie House. In Bathurst, a heritage tour and a memorable lap of Mount Panorama offer a final highlight before we journey back through the Blue Mountains to Echo Point and the iconic Three Sisters. With thoughtful inclusions, comfortable accommodation and plenty of time to take in each moment, this short getaway captures the heart of country New South Wales — full of beauty, warmth and shared experiences.

Testimonials

We have just returned from a 4 day tour to Young. We enjoyed the trip very much, and this was largely due to our tour leader/driver, Hans. He is a particularly likeable young man and his patience and attention to all our needs were 100%. He would be the best tour leader that we have encountered on the many bus tours we have taken both here in Australia and overseas. Please convey our grateful thanks to Hans for making our Young tour so enjoyable.

Your sincerely, J and M.
